Born and raised in Texas, Jason pursued theater, film and opera in Houston, performing several productions with the Alley Theater, the Galveston Island Outdoor Musicals and the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. He was influenced by the voices of Nat King Cole and the Manhattan Transfer as well Harry Connick, Jr.
He moved to New York in 2000 to continue musical theater; however, his trajectory changed on September 11, 2001. Soon after volunteering near Ground Zero he enlisted in the US Army. In 2002, he went through the US Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA, and in February, 2003, he deployed with the 82nd Airborne to Iraq.
After his enlistment ended in 2006, Jason moved his family to the Washington D.C. / metro area, where he currently lives with his beautiful wife and three children, Isabella, Jaron and Odette.
